I joined the CURZON website project after the initial wireframes had already been developed. As such it was my job to diligently render the UI and incorporate UJ/UX alts as they became necessary.
My experience has highlighted that any visual communication, irrespective of its delivery method, greatly benefits from the principles of Gestalt Theory. These principles formed the foundation of the detailed UI renders I created to flesh-out the bare-bones wireframes.
PeachDigital, my collaborators on this project, emphasised a ‘mobile-first’ approach. Thus, I carefully considered how each piece of information would cascade through a responsive design model as the viewports narrowed.
I understood the importance of pursuing a UCD philosophy, and as such it was crucial not to overwhelm the user – and so each page only presents the information that is necessary at any given stage.
Functionality, like the ‘sales funnel’, guides users through the multi-step process whilst layering-up and providing confirmation of the choices that the user has already made.
Feedback from CURZON was exceedingly positive, with the new website immediately boosting their bottom line.
