For the past three years consecutively, I have been responsible for designing and delivering Lonza's two flagship documents: their Annual Report and their Sustainability Report. Throughout this process, I paid close attention to Lonza's evolving brand guidelines, ensuring they were interpreted effectively within the reports. This involved close collaboration with, and visits to, Lonza's in-house design team in Basel, Switzerland to ensure their preferences were incorporated.


From the outset, my guiding principle was to let the data speak for itself. I adopted a reductive design approach, avoiding decorative elements that would distract from the content, thus allowing the data to take centre stage. This philosophy was especially evident in the crucial infographics, which epitomised visual brevity.

Careful consideration was given to organising the information into easily digestible chunks and establishing a clear visual hierarchy to facilitate navigation within the 300-page document. The result is a set of highly functional documents that are both intuitive to use and concise.
