The cinema industry doesn’t operate as one might expect. Cinemas don’t primarily profit from ticket sales; instead they generate revenue from add-ons such as upgraded seating, enhanced experiences like 3D, IMAX and 80mm, and sales from the food hall. Surprisingly cinemas often make more money from advertising upcoming films than from the films themselves.

While collaborating with PeachDigital, I proposed we reimagine the Santikos website as a magazine-style resource filled with exclusive, engaging content to attract and retain patrons. This ‘sticky’ magazine format presented an opportunity to increase dwell time and drive increased advertising revenue.

After exploring the magazine-style concept, Santikos opted to revamp their conventional web presence in the meantime. Thus, the work on updating their website commenced.

As the lead designer, I crafted detailed UI visuals for the magazine-style website and I also visualised every page of the ‘conventional style’ website, including the sales funnel.
